Hey there, I’m Kyle. I’m a Photographer.

I was supposed to be a Japanese teacher.

All through out my life, particularly in high school I had a plan. I was going to go to university and become a teacher and live my life as a teacher until I am old and retired. A week before the due date of university applications I did work experience and found out I don't like teaching. Yikes.

The next week was a stressful one to say the least. I had no idea what wanted to do with my future and it was like I was free falling spiralling out of control. It was also at this time that I had discovered instagram and the wonderful world of editing photos on my phone. I applied for a Bachelor of Languages at 3 different Universities, as Japanese was the one subject I thoroughly enjoyed at school.

Fast forward 5 years, I am half way through a dying degree (Bachelor of Languages) at James Cook University. I spend the most of my time at filling my degree with random subjects such as Anthropology, Journalism, Speech Pathology, photography to make up credit points but also to try and find a heading to what I want to do with my life.

I always remember doing so-so in my first few years of photography. I remember this day so distinctly, I had walked into the class room and it was the first day in the studios to learn about studio lighting. Our tutor was Matthew Gianoulis who is a local Townsville photographer who graduated from the university prior. He had a model with him and I remember the lesson going by so fast and just being mind blown seeing the images that he was creating then and there before our eyes.

I think every weekend of that semester I had one of the studios booked out and I had roped in a different friend every day to sit down and let me take their photo, trying to replicate and learn all the techniques we had learned each week. And that was when I knew that photography was something that I wanted to do, I've learned never to say for the rest of my life, but for the visible future, it is what I see myself doing.

Turn to today I am newly graduated with my Bachelor of Languages and a found passion for Photography and editing photos.

I pride myself on delivering clean well polished images that stun visually and provoke emotion, whether it be a wedding, commercial advertising work or a fun fitness shoot, I aspire to show the versatility to fulfil your needs.
