“Ride like a Girl” Movie Premier // Social Photos (with Rachel Griffiths)
For the premier of “Ride like a Girl” the autobiographical movie about Michelle Payne life, Townsville was graced with the presence of Rachel Griffiths, this time not in an acting roll but in the roll of Director.
The theatre was packed with what seemed like the majority of the local Townsville population ready to support Australia’s darling in her new endeavour of directing.
Without giving too much away Ride like a girl is the inspirational story of Michelle Payne, making history being the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup in 2015 despite facing odds of a 100 to 1.
Event Cinemas had the red carpet rolled out and the media wall set up for the moment a glimpse of Hollywood life, popped into town.
Rachel then proceeded to answer audience questions about the film, the only answer I can recall is how much did the entire film cost to make, which she answered very nonchalantly with 2 million dollars.
After the film had played she made to stay around in the foyer of the cinemas to talk and answer more about the film and to take photos with people. Much to her publicists impatience Rachel made sure to stay around to make sure everyone had gotten the chance to take a photo with her before leaving.
